About the society of Semiconductor Physics and technology

The Gesellschaft für Halbleiterphysik und Technologie is a non-profit association aiming to support scientific research and education in the field of Semiconductor Physics and Technology in Austria

To achieve these aims, the association organizes, among others, symposia, workshops and seminars, in particular the “International Winterschool on New Developments in Solid State Physics”.

The present board was elected at the general assembly of 16 Dec 2005:

Günther Bauer, Vicepresident
Friedemar Kuchar, Vicepresident

Types of Membership:

Founder members: s.a.

Ordinary members: persons, who are able to support the aims of GHPT owing to their position in science and in community.

Extraordinary members: are willing to support the activities of GHPT by additional donations

Honorary members: persons nominated by the general assembly for their particular merits for the GHPT.

The executive board will decide about acceptance of membership applications. The membership fees will be decided on at the general assembly. As a guideline value the registration fee for the last Mauterndorf winterschool will be assumed.

Rights and Duties of members:

  1. Members are entitled to participate in all activities of the GHPT and to make use of all facilities of GHPT. They have the active and passive rights in elections of the GHPT.
  2. Members are obliged to support the activities and interests of GHPT. They have to desist every action which could to harm to the reputation and the aims of GHPT. They have to acknowledge the bylaws of GHPT and the resolutions of the board. They have to pay their membership fees (as decided by the general assembly) in due time.
