12 - 17 Feb, 2012
Castle of Mauterndorf, A-5570 Mauterndorf, Province of Salzburg, Austria
Scope and style of the winterschool:
Like in the previous winterschools, we will try to encompass the most important developments of the last few years in the field of
semiconductor-based nanostructures and to invite the best known experts as speakers. Like in the past we will group the presentations
and ask experienced experts to give introductions to the fields suitable also for graduate students. Particular emphasis will be put on the following topics:
- Quantum Hall effects
- Conducting interfaces of bulk insulators
- Topological Insulators
- Photonics
- Spin physics and spintronics
- Transport in and through nanostructures
- Nanotechnology and nanodevices
- Quantum dots
- Nanowires and nanotubes
- Graphene and graphane
- Magnetic semiconductors: from bulk to nano
- Photovoltaics and Nano
- Semiconductors enabling progress in other fields of physics
